I’ve been coding for the web since 2002, full time since 2006. I began with an interest in multimedia distribution, learning Actionscript (1.0 at the time, and then later 2 and 3), HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Since 2006, I’ve been pursuing an interest in PHP, and PHP frameworks, to include CakePHP, Zend, CodeIgniter, Oracle Rightnow CX (Oracle Service Cloud), and though not technically OO, Drupal. I studied Ruby on Rails a bit, and then began working with Expedia, where I picked up some JAVA/SPRING, AWS, and more.

A few quick examples from my portfolio include:

Most recently, working for Nike, I worked with a small team to transition their Oracle Rightnow CX system into the modern era. That included developing a single code base to unify their otherwise 45+ global code bases, transitioning from a WebDAV deployment model (hardly sustainable) to an automated deployment system, and beginning work on a NodeJS/React replacement application.

Prior to Nike, I lead a team for ATD Wheels, the largest national Tire distributor, building new Hybris sites. Aside from working with a large popular platform, most exciting to me at this opportunity was defining the Front-end stack, and work applying the Google Maps API to display data from their 7,000 or so locations.

Working for Expedia, I contributed to their extensive knowledge base support systems. These systems support over 50 countries, and approximately 40 languages. They rely on front end OO Javascript and CSS work, enhancements to the Oracle owned RightNow Technologies Platform, as well as back end CodeIgniter, PHP systems, ROQL accessed databases, the Amazon Cloud, Google Analytics as well as Adobe Omniture tracking approaches, among other technologies.

This is a site that I built in Zend, and later converted to an e-commerce Drupal installation. The Zend version utilizes some lovely tools, including a simple Zend PDF generation class, and a custom Authorize.net authentication class. The Drupal version is enhanced with several community modules, and a few custom creations as well.

This site is constructed quite heavily with AJAX.It includes a floating and drag-and-drop custom cart, expandable sections, custom menus, and dense logic that ensures that its 10,000+ words are SEO friendly. I built 4 such sites for Soundstrue: http://www.withinsight.com/ Also of interest is a custom podcast that I created for Soundstrue utilizing WordPress: http://www.soundstrue.com/podcast It has over 200 episodes to date, is highly ranked by iTunes, and is completely custom. For example, note each episode’s cross-sells section, which is dynamically generated, pulled from a JAVA e-commerce application by the name of Konakart. All customization is built according to spec, into the CMS so that non-web marketing folks may control every aspect of the podcast, and still the application may be updated as changes are made to it by the community.

Please let me know if you’d like further samples, links, or conversations. I’m happy to oblige.
